What is an F200 Sample Device?

An F200 Sample Device is a standard F200 device that has been pre-configured by J2 Innovations solely for F200 sales evaluations by Authorized FIN Distribution Partners. The F200 Sample Device hardware comes pre-loaded with the FIN software and a temporary FIN software training license ready for use.

Since the F200 Sample Device is pre-configured, it will not need to follow the standard configuration steps listed in the installation guide for a brand new F200 device. The evaluator will just need to plug it into their network and jump right into the FIN software. Sample Devices come with a temporary license that will expire in approximately two-months time, at which point the device should be returned.

How do I setup an F200 Sample Device?

Since the F200 Sample Device has already be pre-configured, the only setup that needs to be done should be the following:

  • Plug the F200 Device into a power source, recommended 24VAC wired to terminals 5 & 7.

  • Connect the F200 either directly to your laptop or to the local network using LAN port 1A or 1B.

How do I access the FIN software on my F200 Sample Device?

Once you've powered up the device, There are two ways to access the FIN user interface. First you must determine the IP Address by using one of the following methods:

  1. (Direct) Default IP Address using service pin: Locate the button labeled “SVC”. Press the SVC button (3) and wait for the SVC LED to illuminate red. The default IP address “169.254.169.254” will then be assigned to the LAN port for the duration of 15 min.

    • WARNING: A long press on the SVC button will perform a factory reset on the device.

  2. (Network) IP Address assigned via DHCP: Look up the address assigned to the F200 device on your router DHCP client table.

Once you’ve determined the IP Address assigned to your F200 Sample Device, launch a google chrome browser and enter the IP Address including port 8085.

  • Example: 169.254.169.254:8085

This should then bring up the FIN login page, at which point you can use the FIN credentials provided via email to log in.

What are the F200 Sample Device limitations?

  • The F200 Configuration Portal is not available for users for the F200 Sample Device since the device has already be pre-configured.

  • The provided Sample License is only to be used for evaluation purposes and will expire after two-months (2 month license extension option is available - see below).

What do I do once my F200 Sample License has expired?

Once the initial 2 month sample license has expired, you have the option of doing one of the following:

  • Request a 2-month sample license extension (maximum of 1 extension per sample)

  • Return the F200 Sample Device to J2

J2 will send out notifications once your sample period is close to an end, and you will be contacted by a J2 Sales Rep. If you’d like to do any of the above options before a notification or follow up is received, please feel free to contact your J2 Innovations Sales Rep.
