Historian Viewer app
The Historian Viewer app in FIN enables users to seamlessly access charts saved in Historian Builder from anywhere within the FIN ecosystem, ensuring uninterrupted workflow.
You have created at least one chart in Historian Builder.
Navigate to the app App Launcher menu (the burger icon upper left of main UI) and select Historian 2.0 Viewer from the End User Apps section.
The Chart Views menu will display in the right-hand side of the screen. Chart views displays a list of charts.
Quick View
With the Chart Views menu open, select a chart you would like to view.
Upon selecting a chart, by default a minimized chart on the right side of the screen is displayed—this is Quick View mode.
Hover the cursor over the chart to view data on each point at specific times.
Adjust the start and end dates displayed by dragging the bars at the bottom of the graph.
A legend appears at the bottom indicating the corresponding color for each point.
Select the refresh icon to revert the chart to its initial state.
Selecting the graph icon switches the display to Chart View.
Selecting launch mode reverts the display to Chart View.
Launch View
To view the chart in full screen mode, an expanded chart in the main UI, navigate to Settings (gear icon upper left of charts viewer).
Select <> Launch View.
The Launch view displays in the main UI panel.
Table View
To switch to table view, select the grid icon.
The Charts displays the chart's data in a table with Sort and Filter functions.
For any column, select the title cell once to order by ascending, again to order by descending, and a third time to cancel the sorting operation.
Select the funnel icon to search for specific text, selecting enter to query and reset to clear the selection.
Date picker
To set the time range for the displayed data, select the date found above the chart.
The date picker will appear.
From the date picker, select any of the following parameters as required:
- Day: Allows you to select a day from the calendar.
- Week: Allows you to select a week from the calendar.
- Month: Allows you choose a month from the calendar.
- Year: Allows you to select a year from the calendar.
- Range: Allows you to select a custom range from the calendar.Select the desired parameter and specify the value. Select Apply.
The chart displays historical data for the specified time period.
Optionally, hover your mouse pointer over a specific location on the chart series to view the point value at that position.
Export Chart
To export a chart:
At least one chart exists in the Chart Views list.
Toggle Chart View to export charts and Table View to export tables and either to download a chart Record for importing into any project.
To export a Chart.
Switch to Chart View in the View Chart section.
Select the export icon.
The Export dialogue box appears.
Name the chart file.
Select the Export Type.
Select one of the following File Type: PNG or JPEG for Chart and click OK.
To export a Table.
Switch to Table View in the View Chart section.
Select the export icon.
The Export dialogue box appears.
Name the table file.
Select the Export Type.
Select one of the following File Type: CSV, HAYSON, or PDF and click OK.
To export a Record.
Select the export icon.
The Export dialogue box appears.
Name the file.
Select Record as the Export Type.
Select HAYSON as the File Type and click OK.
The selected file is exported and can be imported into any other project.
