Duplicate Tag

The Duplicate Tag tool, allows the user to easily select a tag they would like to rename and duplicate without changing its value, based on the filter chosen.

How to use Duplicate Tag


The user will go in DB Builder app.



and click the tools button from the slide menu



Then, the nav tree pops up and the user will check the Show Advanced Tools box  and click the Next button to continue,

After clicking the Next button, a window with the Advanced folder will be displayed. In there, the user must click on   sign, in order to access the drop down menu that contains the Dynamic Import folder. Again click the   sign which correspond the Dynamic Import folder, select the Duplicate Tag tool and click Run Tool button.

After the Duplicate Tag tool has been selected, a widow will pop up and the user must fill the following fields:

  • Filter for records: Here the user determines on what record the duplicated tag should be applied 
  • Tag to duplicate: In this field, the user will write the tag, which is about to be duplicated 
  • Name for duplicated tag: in this field, the user will enter a name for the duplicated tag


When the fields have been filled out, hit the Apply button for the changes to take effect. The results can be observed in the DB Builder app 

Example:

Duplicating a tag

In this example we are going to duplicate a property tag under a different name, without changing its value

Below you can see that the Airflow point is selected and contains a description property tag with some instructions in the value field.

As a next step, we are going to duplicate the "description" property tag under the name "instructions". In order to do that, we will open the Duplicate Tag tool and fill the required fields as follow:

 

 After hitting apply, open the DB Builder app, navigate to the selected point (AirFlow) and you will noticed that "instructions" property tag was created and it has the same text in the value field as the "Description" property tag
