Saved Filters

The Saved Filters tree allows you to create and save frequently used filters. Utilizing this tree with the Tag Bundles Tree makes it a powerful tool. You can save time by not having to go to folio and re-query the same filters every time or memorize the different filters.

Using Saved Filters

To use the Saved Filters tree, set it as visible in the Select Tree drop-down. Once visible, you can select it in the Available Trees panel.

View Saved Filters in Project

To view a list of all saved filters in the project, select Saved Filters from the Available Trees menu.
A list of saved filters is displayed.

The number next to Saved Filters indicates the number of saved filters in the project. For example, the project in the screenshot contains one (1) saved filter.

View Records Returned by a Saved Filter

Grid View Results

Once you have created a Saved Filter, you can view the records it returns by selecting the Saved Filter under the parent tree in Available Trees panel.

The results of the filter are be displayed on the right side on the Grid View. The results returned are the same as if you had run the query in folio. In this example, we're querying for all the points with navName of "Damper" and under a specific floor.

Create a New Saved Filter

To create a saved filter:

  1. Select Saved Filters from the Available Trees menu.
    A list of saved filters is displayed.
  2. There are two different methods to open the Add Saved Filter window. You can use either of the ways below.
    1. Method 1
      1. Select the Add button on the grid view side.
    2. Method 2
      1. Select the plus sign (plus).
      2. Select New Saved Filter.
    3. The Add Saved Filter window is displayed.
  3. Enter a Name.
  4. Enter a Filter.
  5. Select the Add button.

Edit a Saved Filter

To edit a saved filter:

  1. Select Saved Filters from the Available Trees menu.
    A list of saved filters is displayed.
  2. There are three different methods to open the Edit Saved Filter window. You can use any of the ways below.
    1. Method 1

      1. Select the Saved Filter to be edited.
        The saved filter heading turns from light to medium blue.
      2. Select the Edit button on the grid view side.
    2. Method 2
      1. Select the arrow to the left of the Saved Filters tree to expand the saved filters.
      2. Select the saved filter to be edited under the tree.
      3. Select the Edit button on the grid view side.
    3. Method 3

      1. Select the edit icon
      2. Select Edit Saved Filter.
        The Edit SavedQueryFilter window is displayed.
      3. Select the saved filter to be edited with the drop down menu.
      4. Select Edit.
    4. The Edit Saved Filter window is displayed.
  3. Modify any combination of the following fields:
    - Name
    - Filter
  4. Select the Save button.

Delete a Saved Filter

To delete a Saved Filter:

  1. Select Saved Filters from the Available Trees menu.
    A list of saved filters is displayed.
  2. There are three different methods to delete a saved filter. You can use any of the ways below.
    1. Method 1
      1. Select the saved filter to be deleted. The saved filter heading turns from light to medium blue.
      2. Select the Delete button on the grid view side.
    2. Method 2
      1. Select the arrow to the left of the Saved Filters tree to expand the saved filters.
      2. Select the saved filter to be edited under the tree.
      3. Select the Delete button on the grid view side.
    3. Method 3

      1. Select the minus sign (minus).
      2. Select Delete Saved Filter.
        The Delete SavedQueryFilter window is displayed.
      3. Select the saved filter to be deleted with the menu.
      4. Select Delete.
    4. The Warning window is displayed
  3. Deleting saved filters is permanent and cannot be recovered. If you wish to continue, select Delete.

Folders

Folders can be used to keep organized when you have lots of Saved Filters.

Create a New Folder

To create a new folder:

  1. Select Saved Filters from the Available Trees menu.
    A list of saved filters is displayed.
  2. Select the plus sign (plus).
  3. Select New Folder.
    The Create Folder window is displayed.
  4. Enter a Folder Name.
  5. Select Create.

Add Saved Filters to Folders

To add saved filters to folders:

  1. Select Saved Filters from the Available Trees menu and expand the tree by selecting the arrow.
    A list of saved filters is displayed, alongside any folders.
  2. Click and hold the filter you wish to add. Drag your mouse over the folder you wish to add the filter to.
  3. Release your mouse to add the filter to the folder.

Create a New Folder with Saved Filters

You can also create a new folder with multiple Saved Filters in a single step so you won't have to drag and drop each one in individually. To do this:

  1. Select Saved Filters from the Available Trees menu and expand the tree by selecting the arrow.
    A list of saved filters is displayed, alongside any folders.
  2. Select all saved filters to be added. Use ctrl or shift to select multiple filters at once.
  3. Select the plus sign (plus).
  4. Select New Folder.
    The Create Folder window is displayed.
  5. Enter a Folder Name.
  6. Select Create.

Editing and Deleting Folders

Folders can be edited and deleted the same way Saved Filters are edited and deleted. However, deleting a folder is not recursive. If you delete a folder. all of its contents will be moved up a level before the folder itself is deleted.
