Alarm Routine


This tutorial will show how to create a simple HighTemp high temperature Alarm on a VAV.

Prerequisites: A project with VAV equipments.Steps:

The tutorial is  built on the Demo project.

Steps

1.Navigate to City Center > Floor1 > VAV-01.

2.Go Click the Menu button and go to Logic Builder

3.Click on New Program

4.In the new program prompt add the name of the program, for example highTempAlarm with a short description.

Then add the following block - RoomTemp
Leave the ProgramOn Tags

5. Click Save Program

6. Go to Add variable and add a new boolean variable.


7.Set the default value of the variable to false then click apply.
8.On the right side menu click Edit to open the program in bLine

9.Drag a Room Temp Get block and a highTemp Set block onto the editing page11

10. From the Block Library, add to the program a compare->greater than or equal to (cmpGtEq

and an alarm block.

1211.In the Alarm block, add some alarmText and set the priority to 200 (optional) and select the  select the highTemp variable. Optionally a priority and a  cost can be set.

1312.In the cmpGtEq block, set the b value to 85

...

-Optionally  a CondDelay block can be added. With Usin it the user can set a condition to enter in effect after a period of time. For example, the alarm will be triggered if the RoomTemp roomTemp value will be greater higher than 85 degrees for more than 5 seconds

14. Link the conditions and values as well as the flow order as shown below:

The program can be read as thus:

"If the roomTemp is higher than 85 degrees for more than 5 seconds the highTemp will be set to True and trigger the alarm"

15. Save the program.

Should the conditions be met, the alarm will show in the Alarms app, under the End User Apps. More about Alarms here
