Users

The Users app allows the user to create/edit/delete users. 

There are three types of users:

  • Super User (su: superuser accounts manage projects and host-level settings)

    • There can be multiple Super Users.

    • Super Users have read & write access to the entire system, server configurations and all available features within the software.

    • Only Super Users can download "snapshots" in Folio.

    • Only Super Users have full access to the Host Menu and all available Host configurations such as creating/editing new users, new projects, licensing, etc.

  • Admin User (admin: administrator accounts have full read/write access to manage a given project database)

    • Admin Users have read & write access that can be limited by access permissions.

  • Operator User (op: operator accounts have read-only access to a given project)

    • Operator Users have read-only access that can be further limited with access permissions.

    • Operator Users may be given the ability to command actions via action permissions.

    • Operator Users can acknowledge alarms if it has the following:

      • A string tag called alarmAckAccessFilter and the value being alarm

Location

NOTE: Only Super User (su) types of users can manage other users

To use the User application, the Super User will need to have the Host Application open.

  • When any Super User logins into FIN, they are directed to the Host Application where they can click on the User selection on the left-hand column.

  • Additionally, Super Users (su type) can also open the Host Application under the Advanced Apps (not available to Admin and Operator).

Users Properties

Once inside the Users app, the Super User can do the following:

  • Create / Edit User

  • Delete User

  • Enable / Disable User

  • Reset Passwords

  • Search User

Delete User

The Delete User button is that part of the Users app that allows the removal of existing users.    

Enable / Disable User

  • Disable a user: Click on the Enable button and this will display the user as Disabled

  • Enable a user: Click on the Disabled button and this will display the user as Enabled

Reset Password

1. To reset the password of any users, click on the Reset button.

2. A pop-up window will display called Reset Password will open. A temporary password for the user is suggested but can be edited. 

3. Once the user signs in with the temporary password, they will be directed to change that temporary password with unique password of their own choosing.

Search User

Users can now be easily searched using any portion of their name or username.

Users Groups

If there are multiple users with the same settings, the group functionality allows users to be grouped in one place.
