How to get the Host ID

FIN will only run if a valid license has been uploaded to the server. In order to have the proper license the user needs to provide (when buying the license) the proper Host Id of the server where FIN is going to run.

Running FIN on a Virtual Machine

Please note that, if running FIN on a VM, changing the configuration of the VM itself (OS name or architecture, number of CPUs, other) might change the Host ID, thus requiring to update the license. Get in touch with our Technical Support if you are planning to edit your VM settings.

Linux

We exclusively support Ubuntu & Ubuntu Server. If you need support to generate host ID, please make sure you update to the latest Ubuntu as this should resolve the issue.

There are 2 ways of getting the Host ID.

1. During installation: there is a step that requires the user to upload a valid FIN Stack license and below the field the user can see the Computer Host ID.

2. After installation: view it in the Host application > Licenses when FIN is launched. Select on Host Info to view the details of the license.
