Graphics Tree

A graphic is a symbol attached to attributes that represent Sites, Floors, Equips, Points, or other data.

The Graphics tree allows a user to view the points associated with graphics data. 

Graphics Tree Window (List View)

The list view displays a list of all graphics in the project.

To display the list view:

  1. Open the Graphics drop-down menu.
    A list of all graphics contained in the project displayed. 
  2. Choose the graphic.
    The list of locations that the graphic is running on is displayed on the right.

In this example, a Graphics count of 24 indicates that there are 24 total graphics in this project. There are six graphics with the label AHU, but each subsequent target, such as BOILER, has one associated graphic. Select the graphic name to display additional information (such as the display name, referenced name, and physical location attributes).

In the grid view, use the Property Editor (the i button) to display and modify details for the selected record.

Graphics Tree Window (Grid View)

The grid view provides an alternate method of interacting with graphics data.

To display the grid view:

  1. Select the Graphics tree.
    A graphics list is displayed in the right window panel. 
  2. In the right panel, select the drop-down arrow for the desired graphic.
    Tiles represent each occurrence the graphic is used in the project.

  


In the grid view, the following tools are provided:

  • Edit: edit a graphic
  • Delete: delete a graphic
  • Make Default: make the graphic a default
  • Remove Default: remove default status from a graphic
  • Batch Tags: apply several tags to a graphic in one occurrence
  • Copy from Graphic: copy information from a graphic for use in another graphic
  • Delete Records: delete the graphic tag used at a specific location
  • Edit GraphicOn: edit the graphicOn filter


Edit a Graphic

To edit a graphic:

FIN Stack is context-sensitive. Before editing a graphic, navigate to the location where the graphic is located.

Use the Navigation Header to go to the location where the graphic will be placed.

  1. Choose the graphic.
  2. Select the Edit button.
    A pop-up window is displayed.
  3. Select OK to open the Graphics Builder app in a new window.

Delete a Graphic

To delete a graphic:

  1. Select the graphic.
  2. Select Delete.
    A warning is displayed that indicates the graphic will be permanently deleted.
  3. Select DELETE.
  4. Select Refresh .
    The Graphics tree window list is updated.

Make Graphic a Default

When you make a graphic the default, a tag is added to the graphic. When an object is linked to multiple graphics, the default tag informs the system that one graphic contains the preferred characteristics.

To assign default status to a graphic:

  1. Select the graphic.
  2. Select Make Default.
    The Make Default button turns gray, indicating that default status has been assigned to the graphic.

Remove Default Status from a Graphic

To remove default status from a graphic:

  1. Select the graphic.
  2. Select Remove Default.
    The Remove Default button turns gray, indicating that default status has been removed from the graphic.

Batch Tags

The Batch Tags function allows you to apply several tags to a graphic in one occurrence. 

To apply a group of tags to graphics:

  1. Select the graphic.
  2. Select Batch Tags.
    The Graphics Batch Tags window is opened.
  3. Select the graphics to be modified. To select multiple records, select Ctrl as you select the records.
  4. Type filter names in the box, or select the Filter button to choose filter names from a list.
  5. Add tags in the Tag box.
  6. Select APPLY.

Copy Data From a Graphic

You can copy elements and element types from one graphic for use in other locations.

To copy from graphic:

  1. Select the graphic.
  2. Select Copy from Graphic.
    The Copy from Graphic window is displayed.
  3. Select the Graphic to copy from the drop-down list. To select multiple records, select Ctrl as you select the records.
  4. Select the element types.
  5. Select the elements to copy.
  6. Select the graphics to apply the characteristics.
  7. Select APPLY.

Delete Records

To delete records:

  1. Select the desired graphic.
  2. Select Delete Records.

    The Graphics Delete Records window is opened.
  3. Select the records to be deleted. To select multiple records, select Ctrl as you select the records.

  4. Type filter names in the text box, or select the Filter button to select filter names from a list.
  5. Select APPLY.

Edit GraphicOn 

The graphicOn field includes tags that inform the system of the graphics to be used with specific Sites, Floors, and Equipment.

In this example, AHU runs on equipment with ahu, hvac and vavZone tags, but will not run on rooftop units.

To edit graphicOn:

  1. Select the graphic.
  2. Select Edit GraphicOn.
    The Set graphicOn window is opened.
  3. Select FILTER.
    The FILTER EDITOR is opened.
  4. Set parameters for CONDITIONS, ALL TAGS, ANY TAGS, and CONDITION GROUPS. See Filter for additional information on how to use the Filter Editor.
  5. Select OK.
    The FILTER EDITOR window is opened. 
  6. Select the CONFIRM button to confirm your selection.

    The program returns to the Set graphicOn window. The updated parameters are shown in the Graphic On Filter field.
  7. Select OK.

    The graphicOn column of the Graphics list is updated.

To see all of the locations where a graphic is used:

  1. Select the Graphics tree.

    A graphics list is displayed. 
  2. Select the drop-down arrow for the desired graphic.
    Tiles containing location information are displayed for each occurrence the graphic is used in the project.
