FIN 5.0.3

Overview

The FIN 5.0.3 release is considered a 'service pack' release which typically contain minor bug fixes and feature enhancements. Numerous changes have been made to enhance product robustness and enhanced cybersecurity as well. 

Notable Fixes & Enhancements

  • Aux points & licensing have been enhanced. If the AUX points exceed the licenses "auxPoint" capacity, the aux points will then count towards the "point" portion of the license (if there is room). 

  • Newly added points through the DB Builder tree automatically get the aux tag (not through point library)

  • Points added from connectors that do not have the his tag are automatically given the aux tag

  • FIN now supports later versions of MAC OS Mojave 10.14 and the newest version of Catalina 10.15

  • Language support for all end user apps with the following languages: Spanish, Romanian, Italian, & French

  • FIN Install wizard improvements

  • EULA now has to be accepted for every new user's first login & with every FIN update

  • Alarm Config Application now works with Microsoft's Edge web browser

  • Alarms refresh interval can be modified

  • User no longer Have to clear browser cache after every graphic edit

  • "By Category" in Logs was removed from the project Debug application

  • In dark mode and in DB Builder, when on a selected point on the navigation tree, the text in the debug popup is now visible

  • When no license is installed make the user install a license before using the product

  • Link to Documentation on the Licensing Error Banner was been updated

  • The project level Debug application is functional

  • End User Agreement popup must be accepted by all users in order to use the software

  • Removed Access Permission settings for super users.

  • Admins now have access to StackHub and Weather Applications

  • Admin and Operators do not have access to certain applications when app access is set by super users

  • Naming convention for projects now allows for numbers.

  • Invalid old password error popup has been renamed and is translatable

  • The create project form does not allow projects to have the same name.

  • An error popup is now shown when trying to create read only tags such as (curStatus, curVal, nextTime, nextVal) in the Property Editor

  • Snapshot cannot be restored in non demo projects [v.2292]

  • Newly added point/equip should have correct disMacro property

  • Stack Trace has been re-added to Folio errors

  • Folio file import doesn't seem to do anything, but text part works

  • In Folio clicking on a right arrow in columns now queries readById for that row

  • Saved filters are now applied in Folio

  • In Graphics Builder locked layer can be selected

  • If you click on the other app when you work on graphic builder you lose all the progress because leave page prompt is not appear

Overview

The FIN 5.0.4.2977 (Patch) is a quick patch to the initial 5.0.4 release that contains a few additional fixes & enhancements to the software.

Notable Fixes & Enhancements

  • Docs in the Host App are now working as intended

  • Moving haystack points from one equip to another equip is now working as intended

  • Users can now properly edit and modify existing AM Chart components after creating them

Overview

[Release date: July 7th, 2020] The FIN 5.0.5 release is considered a 'service pack' release which typically contain minor bug fixes and feature enhancements. Numerous changes have been made to enhance product robustness and enhanced cybersecurity as well. 

Notable Fixes & Enhancements

  • The feature for checking a license's maintenance date has changed. First obvious change is that the warning banner is no longer shown on top of the screen. The second change is that the installer now compares the new build release date with the maintenance date.

  • Added functionality for each Official Release Version of the Software to have a release date property. This release date will be used when installing a future upgrade.

  • During the FIN installation wizard, if a license maintenance date is before the release date of the build is being installed. A message will pop up and say "This license does not support build X.X.X.XXXX", and the installation will pause at that step.

  • When a new release is installed without a license, and then a license with an expired maintenance date is added (the release date is later than the maintenance date). All extensions will shut down and the build will be unusable, except the Host app will allow for a new license to be installed.

  • Added a date check against maintenance date for determining FIN functionality. If current date is later than the maintenance date the weather app is disabled, but all other FIN functionality remains the same.

  • Added a date check against maintenance date for displaying current maintenance status. If current date is later than the maintenance date when viewing a license in the host app a warning will be displayed. "This license maintenance has expired".

  • The documentation for the FIN Framework IT hardening guide has been updated

  • Alarm routines used by the Alarm Config app now properly get added to a new project and show up in Logic Builder app

  • When creating a new Favorite using the Favorites app, the icon drop down properly displays all the icons

  • The password policy is now set to Strong by default for EXE installations. Users will be prompted to change their password on first login

  • DB Builder Essentials view has been updated to display data properly

  • The documentation for the FIN Framework IT hardening guide has been updated
